This was about as deep as she went. Trent was anxious to teach her back floats. She did not hate the water but she did not squeel either. It was a nice change for her usaully she sits on my lap next to the pool showcasing her variety of swim suits. With us being a swimming family Harper received many swim suits for this summer. It has been fun to dress her in them. Now it is fun that we are using them.

Still No Smile Pics

OK, so I still can not catch a smile on camera but she does. When I am cooking or canning Harper is usually busy in the saucer. She was smiling until I took out the camera to take this picture. I did have her picture professionally taken in the Chili Pepper costume (all of the kids have had their pictures taken in it at about the same age), and yes she smiled for the photographer. I will keep working on it for you.
Not too much is going on around here. Ian did Cub Scout Camp last week. He had a great time. I was told he did great at archery. Camp had a pirate them. Ian made a treasure chest and is working with gimp.

Last Thursday Trent began with the flu. And over the weekend it passed through all of us. Jason and I went on a date to the movies Saturday night and we got the call the Brynn has tossed her dinner. We are lucky to love by Grandma Ali and she came and got Brynn. We went to see Dark Knight at teh I Max in Tualatin. We went with another couple and did not drive. We were glad to not miss the end of the movie.

We are in a slow routine for us. No swim team for anyone- including Jason. Ian has soccer and cub scouts. Brynn is on a break from both spwach therapy programs for a month. She has just been very social with a bunch of birthday parties. Trent is enjoying having his siblings home to cause trouble with him. I will have to take them on more trips to the pool to keep them busy.

Ian was baptized yesterday. We held a huge celebration at our clubhouse after. I think that we had more than 50 people there. It was so wonderful to see how many people support Ian and will be there for him if he ever needs them. Ian will be starting cub scouts and will be at camp next week. Thankfully for me just day camp. He already went on a 4 day trip down that John Day River with my Uncle Scott. I do not think I could have him gone again. I can not believe all of the big things he does now!

Brynn is off swimming with Jason right now. She is getting ready to be on swim team with Ian this fall.

Trent is a spit fire! He keeps me on my toes, but he is also the most wonderful huggie boy too.

Harper has a small cold and I think she has passed it on to me. But she is well. I think she will start to roll soon. Jason put her crib bedding in this weekend! She has finally moved in to 3-6 month size clothing. She and Ian have a doctor appointment next week we will see how much she has grown.

So Much To Post

We have had such a busy summer. I have been bad about posting so here is a quick run down of what we have been up to. This weekend Ian swam in the 10 & Under Sate Meet. He placed 2nd in his heat and had a best time. Below is a picture of him just after Jason shaved his head the night before.

On Wednesday nights the kids compete in track meets. Ian has won the 1500 and 800 every week so far. Brynn does well in the 50 hurdles (placing in the top 3 every week) and Trent took home is first ribbon (one that was not a participation) this last week. He place 3rd in the 50 meter dash. He starts like shown below for every race. All the other kids start standing. He is such a crack up. Even funnier is to watch him do the hurdles. He runs to the hurdle and then puts his hands on it to climb over. Super cute!

Brynn and Ian have been participating in the Hillsboro Track Club. Here is their team picture. Brynn is in the front row and Ian is above her in the second row.

We spent the 4th at the coast with our good friends the Teagues and Nys. We had a blast. The weather even cooperated. This is the kids at an activity in the afternoon. Harper's not shown becasue I was wearing her in the baby sling, but yes her dress matches Brynn's.

Brynn taking a water break at soccer camp. I know she is thirsty because by 10am it was already 80 outside- she is not hot from playing... Her and her team walked after the ball it was slow motion soccer. It was funny to watch.

Papa John holds Harper and everyone climbs on!

Trent thinks he is Spider Man and is constantly dressing up in this costume. She smiles at us a lot. Usually in the morning after her diaper change and nursing. I have tried to get pictures but all she does is look and wonder at the camera. Ian has been able to get her to squeal so we know laughs are coming soon.

Soccer Crazy

This week and last week we have been crazy busy with soccer camps. Ian participated in the Bernie Faggen camp last week. He attended M-F for 6 hours a day. He is a trooper he still participated in every swim practice and track practice. This week it is Brynn's turn. She is doing a little soccer practice through parks and rec. Today was her first day and she was loving it. Poor Trent, he is not old enough this summer. Lucky for him he gets to participate in the track meets on Wednesday nights. I will try to get some pictures of it this week.

"A" Time

Today Ian got his A time in the 50 breast. He is now offically qualified for the 10 and Under Long Course State meet. He was so excited. Jason was at the meet with him and after his swim Ian called me to tell me. Then when I picked him up from a friends house the first thing he said to me when he got in the car was " Mom, I got an A time. I am an A swimmer now." Jason said he even had watery eyes watching Ian swim and knowing that he was swimming fast enough to get his time. Ian crushed the time by over a second. Ian had swam the time at practice a few time and has an A time in the 25 fly as well, but getting the A time in the 50 Breast at a meet had been his challenge. Great Job Ian!

Harper's Blessing

Harper was blessed on June 2. She went in for her check up this week. She is 9 lbs 10 oz. Even though she is little she is growing. She also moved out of the 5% tile to the 10th. Jason started calling her peanut when we were in the hospital and I think he got it right.

Ian is a 3rd grader! Wow that is hard to say. He loved his teacher this year and is having a hard time moving on. He has been very emotional this week. We have decided to try his school agian in the fall and re-evaluate in early November. If he is not being challenged we will go back to homeschooling and he will remain there. I should be able to do it well with Harper being older.

Brynn is on a few week vacation from both of her speach therapy programs. The one I take her to in down town PDX is relocating (even further from us), so there is a 2 week break. We got lots of homework and that is keeping us busy.

Bubba is just like Harper, along for the ride. He enjoys being around his siblings so much. He is going to love summer and having Ian home.

Next week Ian start track club. He will do that along with swimming for the next 7 weeks. He also has one week where he does soccer camp from 10- 3 then swim then track. He will be tired. Brynn will do a soccer camp the following week.

We have 2 trips to the coast planned. Ian will be celebrating his 8th birthday, and Ian will be baptized the first Saturday in Aug. When Jason sees Trent picking his nose- "Gross Trent don't do that!" Ian is quick to respond that Trent is trying to get the pop corn kernals out of his nose. "WHAT!!!"

Anyway to make a long story short I call my mom and Harper, Trent, Grandma and I go to the emergency room. Lucky me Trent was scared of the nurse who wanted to take the first look so he cried. One pop corn kernal came out. We still had one in the other nostril. The ER doctor we saw was great. He explained to me that we could use this nasty suction thing to get it out or we could try an old fashioned trick where we plug the clear nostril and I give him a "Big Kiss" I opted for the kiss. After one mouth to mouth puff- we had two clear nostils. Happy Mother's Day came early for me- Trent gave me a big kiss.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers.

April 9, 2008

So after typing about how I was not in labor yet on my last posting contractions began. Yipee! By ten after 8 my contractions started going every 10 minutes. We had Jason's dad come watch the house of sleeping kids while we headed off to the hospital. We arrived about 9:30 and at 11:18 Harper Carrie Moore entered the world at 6 lbs 1 oz 18 3/4 inches long. I am sure you are now asking yourself why is there no picture with this posting? The answer is simple. I am computer dumb and every time I try to add one it tells me pop up blocked. Jason said he would fix it but has not yet. Hopefully soon. She is however posted on the Thunderbolt swim team web site. I think the team was excited about the possibility of a Moore relay:)

No Baby Yet

I know that I should be better about posting especially since I have been on bed rest. What can I say...

Things around here are going pretty much the same. Brynn is swimming 4 days a week. Ian swims 3. Trent, Brynn and I have been swimming during open swim while Ian is practicing on Mondays. Yes even at the HUGE size that I am I still put on a suit. Trust me it is not pretty.

Jason is working and just got a raise! Yipee! Basically a cost of living increase so it's not much. But we'll take it. He even got free Blazer tickets this week at work so he and Ian will be going to the game Saturday night.

The baby waiting game is killing us. I have been having bad, bad, head aches. Nothing seems to help them. Hopefully they will go away when the baby is born. I have an appointment on Firday I will talk to my doctor about them. I am also going to have her check me to see if I am making progress. Last week I was thinning and dilated to 1.

Trent is Potty Trained!

Horray for me! Trent is potty trained! He woke up last Monday and would not put a diaper on, and from that point on started putting his pee pee in the potty. He looks so skinny now with out a diaper bum. He is even to the point now where he does not want a reward after each deposit.

The rest of us have been up to the usual. Brynn is swimming at Conestoga on M/W/F mornings and dancing on Tuesday evenings. Ian is swimming and this week he took a science class on volcanos and earthquakes.

Friday we will leave for Astoria for the weekend. The weather keeps kidding us with a little snow but not enough to do anything with. We have been going about our weekly routine as usual. We did end up putting Ian back in public school. After all of our Charter school options fell through we started taking a closer look at the local public school and they were using the same books that I was home schooling Ian with. We will see how it goes. We may go back ot homeschooling in the fall which will give me time to look for a better curriculum. I have enjoyed the history that we have been doing so we will continue that.

Ian had a swim meet this weekend. Yes that is picture worthy however I never seem to get good swimming shots. He got best times in ALL of his events. He is getting "B" times and is close to an "A" time in his 50 yard breaststroke. Jason and I made a deal with him that if he got a "A" time we would buy him a Wii. I am rooting for him- I want guitar hero. Not that I will have time to play once Harper arrives.

I'll fill you in

OK so here is a quick run down on what's been going on.
#1 Trent turned 2! We had a Cookie Monster party for him with ice cream cake. Yummy. Then we took him swimming and he had a great time. We came home and ate nachos and the next morning Jason made him funnel cakes for breakfast.

#2 Trent's actual birthday was on a Sunday. It was a big one for us because Trent was offically 2, Brynn entered primary as a Sunbeam, and Ian is now in Senior Primary. I can not believe how big they are all getting.

#3 Baby girl now has a name... Harper Carrie Moore! Jason and the kids are stuck on the name. I keep suggesting other options but none of them will waiver. However, if she come out looking like a Bob then I will name her Bob. Let's hope she looks like a Harper.

#4 Brynn is now in swimming M/W/F mornings and taking Hip Hop Dance on Tuesdays. Ian is still on swim team. He really enjoys swimming the 100's vs the 25's I think he will be a distance swimmer. He will do a flag football camp in March.

#5 Ian may start public school again... Pregnacy is begining to drain me and I need a new curriculum. He may do public school to finish out the school year and that will give me time to look for a new curriculum. No decisions are final.

Brynn-ism

The other day Brynn noticed the funniest thing... We have just been going about our week with everything normal. Homeschooling in the morning and Brynn's speach therapy on Wednesdays. Watching a few kids here and there and running to the library and pool for our many trips in a week. Then I remembered that Friday we had our ultra sound. We are excitedto be having a little girl. She has no name at this time. She does appear to be stubborn though, she was face down through most of the ultra sound and it was difficult to see her. Jason is in for it... she is going to be like me!

I also took Jason out for his birthday (Thanks Erin for providing day care). I took him to a place called The Brazil Grill. It had all you can eat salad bar and side dishes and then these guys walked around with swords and carved meat off of them at your table. It was quite the experience. Jason thought it was lots of fun and wants to go back with his dad. I was daring and ate more than just chicken!

Also, I took the kids to see Santa! Ian was polite and only told Santa 2 things he wanted for Christmas, Brynn however had a list that kept going. Trent was unsure of Santa at first that is why he did not sit on his lap for the picture but by the time we were leaving he had warmed up to him. He even gave him a hug goodbye.

No Text

So apparently I did nto proof my last posting because none of my text ws there. So here is what those pictures are... Our Thanksgiving.

On Thanksgiving day we had my family over to our home and had the whole spread. Friday Jason and I hit Toys R Us at 4:30 am and started our shopping. I continued to shop until 4:30 that afternoon. Yes, I am pretty much done with everyone. Saturday after Jason coached swim practice we had breakfast with my best friend from college Danice and her husband Matthew and their daughter Maddison. It was so wonderful to see them even if it was for a short time.

Then we headed up to Stratford, Wa (by Moses Lake) to visit my Auntie Anne, Uncle Bob, Cousin Jodee as well as my Grandparents from Wyoming. When we arrived it was night time and the kids did not get to see much of the property. When they woke up in the morning I opened the blinds and they saw horses! Oh the were so excited.

Later when the rest of my family woke up the kids were able to go with Bob to go feed the horses. After the horses ate they got to sit on them and feed them horse cookies. Trent loved feeding the cookies to the horses. Ian sat on the horse, it moved backward and he slid so he was done with the horses. Brynn who does not like dogs or cats, sat on the horse and pet it and never wanted to leave it.

Later that morning the Ian, Brynn, and Jason walked up the hill next to the house. I was sure it was going to be too hard for Brynn and that Jason would haveto carry her. But she was a trooper and made it up and down with out being carried.

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139233683889430418" style="DISPLAY: block; You always see the cute picture of the kid covered in flour or mud. I am just not that kind of mom, if they are in trouble I clean it up and tell them no. However or Wednesday night Trent was dancing in the kitchen in nothing but socks and I thought how cute I will take a picture only when I turned around with the camera he was not dancing any more.

Trent's new trick is to rip his diaper off so we are working on potty training. Friday he put his pee pee in the potty 4 X! Saturday we got it in once. It is a slow process as I think he is too young but if he is not going to keep his diaper on we had better learn where it goes.

Saturday Ian had is final soccer game of the season. He was so excited to play his friend Sam. Ian's team won! Ian even scored 2 goals... in a row. It was a very exciting game. Where Brynn attends preschool is out by the Roloff Farm and so every week as we take her to school the kids see the signs. We watch the show on TV so they just had to go there. Being that it is the weekend before Halloween the pumpkins were pretty well picked over but we did manage to find the perfect pumpkin. The kis (well, Ian) was excited to see Amy Roloff and Molly was working the check stand. On our way out he saw Zach driving a tractor. Here is Jason's perfect carving pumpkin.

Ian Scored His First Soccer Goal!

The weekend I went to Bend with my sister to Bend to visit my Grandma in the hoppital, Ian scored his first soccer goal! I have been taking them. I have some great ones of Ian's soccer that I will try to get on and just some fun ones of the kids.

Last weekend we went to Fort Stevens with our friends the Nys and Teague's. We had a great time. Jason and Scott made tuna for dinner. We played poker until 2 in the morning. Sunday morning Jason woke up and made our family favorite "French Roll-Ups"

Unfortnaetly for me, I started spotting while we were there. I was worried I was going through a miscarrige. When the spotting continued on Monday I called the doctor and they had me come in the next day. The ultra sound showed a healthy baby! Yipee! Dr Pew was not sure what was causing the spotting she said sometimes you never know. I went about my week still spotting and then on Friday it turned red. Dr Pew had me come in again, and still a healthy baby. I am a mystery. They put me on bed rest for the weekend. So Jason is running the show. I know it is a little scarry.

Well I had better go... carmel apple making is calling. Enjoy your week. Tuesday night I took the kids to my brothers hokey game. Trent is awesome. He watches the game like it is the coolest thing he has ever seen. Brynn is quite the cheerleader and Ian loves to sit right by the ice. The rest of the week was usual and non-eventful. Saturday Ian had a soccer game, his team lost again but they have fun. Jason is scopping out what coach he wants to request for next year. I have considered banning Jas from the games. Last week he corrected the ref, this week he got in to it with the opposing teams coach.

Later Saturday afternoon was Tyler and Perri's wedding reception. My Dad and his new wife Lisa came. It was good to see my Dad. It was a little weird being in a room with both my parents. They have not been in the same room since the divorce. But all went well. Before the reception Stink and I went and got make overs. That was fun and girly. The lady was trying to sell me stuff to help my zits- hey it's pregnancy nothing is going to help these zits. I think she was a little bummed on the loss of sale. But really, my zits are caused by hormones gone crazzzzy.

Here comes the poor me. I spent ALL night Saturday awake with the flu. As I type I am in bed. I have finally kept some toast down and Jason is joking that I am almost vertical. However I am very tired and think I will take a nap.

I know it's been a while

I know, I know, I am sorry. Things have just gotten away from me. August was super busy, I tried to get in everthing with the kids that we had not done all summer. We went to Oaks Park, the coast (twice), playdates with the Adams, and birthday parties. We have been making our usual rounds to the Farmer's market on Saturday mornings. Ian has started soccer. So we have practice twice a week and games on Saturdays. Swim team registration for Ian is tonight, so we will start that as well. Jason and I made the decision to homeschool Ian this year. It is working out good right now. And for those of you who do not call often enough (he he) yes it is true I am pregnat! We are due the end of April. That is really all the news from here. I will get busy with keeping up on our site. Love to all. We had such a great day.

Aunt stick insited that the kids try the Pop Rocks right way, so before lunch they began reaping the rewards of their Parade candy.

Ian had green apple Pop Rocks and thougth they were amazing.

Trent having Pop Rocks for the first time. He wakes up in the morning asking for "T-Nanna" Let me rephrase that little he wakes up 30- 45 minutes before Savannah's arrival asking for her. The part is that it puts him in a really good mood. He is not the only one it puts in a good mood. It also puts Brynn (who wakes up horribly!) in a good mood. Brynn loves to come down stairs and play with Baby Savannah right away. We are all really enjoying having Savannah around. I took the kids berry picking in the pouring rain. We went to Smith Berry Barn just past Groner Elementary. All of the berries are no spray. We got the meet the owner and take a tour of the property. He answered all of our silly questions. Then we got picking we thought the big rain storm had passed but we were wrong- it really poured once we got out there. We decided there were some positives to picking in the reain... 1. No Bugs 2. Our hands stayed clean because the rain washed it off, and 3. There was no one else there!

We kept Trent enterained my constantly feeding him. Sometimes it is just enough to get all three kids out hte door with matching clothes and clean faces. Anyway, Thursday night our neighborhood had a presentation on birds sponsered by Jackson Bottom Wetlands. I took the kids down after dinner. I tried to bribe Trent to stay in his car/stroller by feeding him cookies but that did not work he wanted to sit with the big kids in the middle of the room and participate. He did good- and all the kids loved it when thye pulled out mounted birds to touch. The presenter walked around the room so that each kid and parent could touch. Trent followed her and gave a "Oooo" reaction each time. Brynn was super cute as well. She raised her hand to answer each question- even though she had no clue what the answer was. Ian was mister intelligent and really did nswer the quesition correct. After the presentation we took the kids down the the gazebo and Ian looked through binoculars ( I may have spelled that wrong) and spotted a Bald Eagle. I had thought that I was seeing an eagles nest on our walk of the wet lands however it is home to a very beautiful bald eagle. It was quite a treat for Ian.

If it's not one thing it's another...

Last week we had the flu, this week Brynn has pink eye. It is hard to tell from these pictures but she has it. We will be medicating her for the next 5 days. It started in her right eye and the next morning it was in both. She has a great calming method before she gets her drops. First she gets a blanky, then she counts she makes it to 7 and then the numbers come out of order and go up to eighty thirteen! That must be a really high number.

The Madness is Satrting

This week Ian was a very busy boy. He had soccer camp in the morning all week. He loved it and his comment was "I wish I could do this every day of the year instead of every day of the week." Lucky for him he is registered for soccer in the fall.

The top picture is of Ian's swim meet. He swam the 25 free and was 3 seconds off a "B" time, the 25 back and the 100 IM (which he got another best time in). It is possible for Ian to have some "B" times by the end of the summer. He had a great time at the meet and is getting to know his new team mates. The meet was Jason's first with his new team- THUNDERBOLT. It was a little weird having Jason coach one team and Ian swim on another. But hey to me it makes sense to have him on the team where I can walk him to practice:) The meet was a first for me. I hired a baby sitter to stay home with Brynn and Trent. Poor Cherice (our sitter) we left the house at 6 am. It was nice to have Ian and Mom time. Although at first he really wanted to assert his freedom and hang out with friends. However, mid way thorugh the meet he was sitting on my lap reading Encylopedia Brown mysteries.

Congrats Amy!

On Tuesday Ian broke out and was crying that he missed his friend Zachy (Zachary Warren). For those of you who don't know Zach moved last year so his mom (Amy- my good friend) could attend BYU- Provo. It was odd and I thought we would track down an address and send a letter. No joke 2 days later I got a call from a friend saying that Amy got married today and would be in town on Tuesday could a make it to a little girls get to gether. I had not plans to drop- but if I had I would have dropped them. I was there! Amy was so happy. I had not seen such a glow on her in a long time. The sad part of the story is that Amy and family will remain living in Provo, but hopefully they will make it back to visit more. My curtains are up! I went with a jungle theme in the downstaris bathroom. It is cute and fun for the kids. We have giraffe soap, a lion rug, a monkey tissue holder and we finally have jungle curtains. I found this shower curtain and my mother in law sewed it up for me- 'cause you all know how good I can sew. To keep it a simple project I left it like a shower curtain and hung it with shower hooks- that of course matched the theme.

Thanks Rosemary!!

Weekend

We had a pretty busy weekend. Saturday Ian got to go fishing with his Papa John. He caught 2 trout and had a great time. Following that Ian and Brynn headed off to a birthday party for Kira. It was at the gymnastics academy. They had a great time.

Sunday we got up and went to church. It is always my goal to make Sunday mornings smooth... it never happens. We all get in the car grouchy with each other. Then as soon as we walk into the building these smiles come over us and all is good again. Jason and I are co-teahing CTR 5 which is a little crazy when we have Trent in there with us. Lucky for us he gets to go to nurshery next month. We are struggling to keep their attention a little. 5 is a hard age. In the Farmington ward we had CTR 11, and for the last few weeks I had been teaching CTR 7. I think I was getting used to the older kids. I am off to learning ladder today to get a book of activities to keep the kids busy.

After church we headed out to Aurora to have lunch with Jason's Granparents. We had a great time. Being that we do not have a yard we have our garden at their home. I was hoping to weed or something, but no I just got to see how much everything hs grown.

On our way home we realized that Jason's parents will be in Florida for Father's Day so we invited themover for dinner and had a father's day celebration. Jason BBQ chicken and the trout that Ian had caught. I made Pat Seller's no bake chocolate cookies for dessert.

Brynn and Ian wanted to give Papa John a gift, so they made him cards with gift certificates inside. Yes, it is always the left. He does this in the car, in the stroller, in the shopping cart, at a table anywhere! No matter what I do I can not keep it on. I have gotten realy good and finding the shoe. I have not, however gotten used to everyone stopping me to tell me that my baby lost a shoe. Brynn started pre-school this month. She is attending a program one day a week at West Union Elementary. It is a program that only has 10 students and she gets one on one time with a speach patholigist to help her annunciate better. A few days before Jason and I took her to REI to pick out a back pack and water bottle. They are both pink. She loves going to school and is so proud that she has her own back pack. She comes home every week with a homework book and every time Ian sits down to do his homework Brynn sits next to him to do hers.

Colorado

This is Brynn, Trent and I at the Cliff Dwellings just outside of Colordo Springs. As you can see from Brynn's pants the kids got very dirty. We had a great time. They have a wonderful museam and they kids were really able to explore the dwellings and see how the native americans in that area lived. One neat fact we learned was that many native american tribes have migration stories about how they reached their area. The native americans in this area have no story- they say they have always been there. It was lots of fun.

I am Back

So I am not sure what happened but for the past 2 weeks I have been trying to log into our blog and post, however it would not let me in.
