Brynn-ism

The other day Brynn noticed the funniest thing... I buy different toilet paper for my bathroom and it is softer. She points this out to Jason and I and then says "When I get older and buy toilet paper I will buy the soft tissue." Now she has become the T.P Queen, everywhere we go she comments on the toilet paper.

What's New With Us...

So I was thinking that there was nothing new with us to post. We have just been going about our week with everything normal. Homeschooling in the morning and Brynn's speach therapy on Wednesdays. Watching a few kids here and there and running to the library and pool for our many trips in a week. Then I remembered that Friday we had our ultra sound. We are excitedto be having a little girl. She has no name at this time. She does appear to be stubborn though, she was face down through most of the ultra sound and it was difficult to see her. Jason is in for it... she is going to be like me!

I also took Jason out for his birthday (Thanks Erin for providing day care). I took him to a place called The Brazil Grill. It had all you can eat salad bar and side dishes and then these guys walked around with swords and carved meat off of them at your table. It was quite the experience. Jason thought it was lots of fun and wants to go back with his dad. I was daring and ate more than just chicken!

Also, I took the kids to see Santa! Ian was polite and only told Santa 2 things he wanted for Christmas, Brynn however had a list that kept going. Trent was unsure of Santa at first that is why he did not sit on his lap for the picture but by the time we were leaving he had warmed up to him. He even gave him a hug goodbye.

No Text

So apparently I did nto proof my last posting because none of my text ws there. So here is what those pictures are... Our Thanksgiving.

On Thanksgiving day we had my family over to our home and had the whole spread. Friday Jason and I hit Toys R Us at 4:30 am and started our shopping. I continued to shop until 4:30 that afternoon. Yes, I am pretty much done with everyone. Saturday after Jason coached swim practice we had breakfast with my best friend from college Danice and her husband Matthew and their daughter Maddison. It was so wonderful to see them even if it was for a short time.

Then we headed up to Stratford, Wa (by Moses Lake) to visit my Auntie Anne, Uncle Bob, Cousin Jodee as well as my Grandparents from Wyoming. When we arrived it was night time and the kids did not get to see much of the property. When they woke up in the morning I opened the blinds and they saw horses! Oh the were so excited.

Later when the rest of my family woke up the kids were able to go with Bob to go feed the horses. After the horses ate they got to sit on them and feed them horse cookies. Trent loved feeding the cookies to the horses. Ian sat on the horse, it moved backward and he slid so he was done with the horses. Brynn who does not like dogs or cats, sat on the horse and pet it and never wanted to leave it.

Later that morning the Ian, Brynn, and Jason walked up the hill next to the house. I was sure it was going to be too hard for Brynn and that Jason would haveto carry her. But she was a trooper and made it up and down with out being carried.

Trent's First Haircut

Yes, it was time. When he was walking down the hall at church last week and his hair was hitting his shoulders Jason put his foot down. So Trent and I took a trip to see our friend Sandie to have his first hair cut. Below is the bfore and the after.
He sat so still through the whole hair cut.

Doesnt he look like Ian/Jason now?? I am still getting used to it but he looks great.

Ashland and Trent

Ashland and Trent are always dancing and playing together and every time I take it picture it turns out horrible. In this picture they were sitting on the couch reading to each other. They were playing so good taking turns and listening to each other. Of course the picture does not do it justice. It is hard to show how cute they play together.

How We Got Ready for Halloween, and Haloween

A new tradition was started by our friends Matt and Erin. They came over and made Haunted Houses with the kids. Matt said it was so Erin had an excuse to buy more cnady. But they all had fun. For some reason I was unable to upload the picture of Trent.
Ian and his Haunted House
Erin and Brynn

Jason had to carve a crazy pumpkin for Ian. I wont show you mine there is nothing too special about triangle eyes and circle nose and the traditional mouth.

We went Trick or Treating with a group of friends here they all are

Here are the kids, Brynn was a cheerleader, Trent a lion, and Ian a storm trooper.

Our Week

I finally got one of those pictures of my kids in trouble. You always see the cute picture of the kid covered in flour or mud. I am just not that kind of mom, if they are in trouble I clean it up and tell them no. However or Wednesday night Trent was dancing in the kitchen in nothing but socks and I thought how cute I will take a picture only when I turned around with the camera he was not dancing any more.

Trent's new trick is to rip his diaper off so we are working on potty training. Friday he put his pee pee in the potty 4 X! Saturday we got it in once. It is a slow process as I think he is too young but if he is not going to keep his diaper on we had better learn where it goes.

Saturday Ian had is final soccer game of the season. He was so excited to play his friend Sam. Ian's team won! Ian even scored 2 goals... in a row. It was a very exciting game. Below is a picture of Sam and Ian after the game.

Our Saturday ended with a trip to find one great carving pumpkin (we already have 4 sitting on our front porch but Jason needed the perfect carving pumpkin). Where Brynn attends preschool is out by the Roloff Farm and so every week as we take her to school the kids see the signs. We watch the show on TV so they just had to go there. Being that it is the weekend before Halloween the pumpkins were pretty well picked over but we did manage to find the perfect pumpkin. The kis (well, Ian) was excited to see Amy Roloff and Molly was working the check stand. On our way out he saw Zach driving a tractor. Here is Jason's perfect carving pumpkin.

Ian Lost His First Tooth

Here he is in all his splendor! He was so excited! He kept telling us how it did not hurt. He woke up in the morning to a Sacagewa $1.

Crazy Week

Again I apoligize about the lack of photos. I have been taking them. I have some great ones of Ian's soccer that I will try to get on and just some fun ones of the kids.

Last weekend we went to Fort Stevens with our friends the Nys and Teague's. We had a great time. Jason and Scott made tuna for dinner. We played poker until 2 in the morning. Sunday morning Jason woke up and made our family favorite "French Roll-Ups"

Unfortnaetly for me, I started spotting while we were there. I was worried I was going through a miscarrige. When the spotting continued on Monday I called the doctor and they had me come in the next day. The ultra sound showed a healthy baby! Yipee! Dr Pew was not sure what was causing the spotting she said sometimes you never know. I went about my week still spotting and then on Friday it turned red. Dr Pew had me come in again, and still a healthy baby. I am a mystery. They put me on bed rest for the weekend. So Jason is running the show. I know it is a little scarry.

Well I had better go... carmel apple making is calling. Enjoy your week. Kim

Sorry no pics

Well nothing really to new around here. Tuesday night I took the kids to my brothers hokey game. Trent is awesome. He watches the game like it is the coolest thing he has ever seen. Brynn is quite the cheerleader and Ian loves to sit right by the ice. The rest of the week was usual and non-eventful. Saturday Ian had a soccer game, his team lost again but they have fun. Jason is scopping out what coach he wants to request for next year. I have considered banning Jas from the games. Last week he corrected the ref, this week he got in to it with the opposing teams coach.

Later Saturday afternoon was Tyler and Perri's wedding reception. My Dad and his new wife Lisa came. It was good to see my Dad. It was a little weird being in a room with both my parents. They have not been in the same room since the divorce. But all went well. Before the reception Stink and I went and got make overs. That was fun and girly. The lady was trying to sell me stuff to help my zits- hey it's pregnancy nothing is going to help these zits. I think she was a little bummed on the loss of sale. But really, my zits are caused by hormones gone crazzzzy.

Here comes the poor me. I spent ALL night Saturday awake with the flu. As I type I am in bed. I have finally kept some toast down and Jason is joking that I am almost vertical. However I am very tired and think I will take a nap.

I know it's been a while

I know, I know, I am sorry. Things have just gotten away from me. August was super busy, I tried to get in everthing with the kids that we had not done all summer. We went to Oaks Park, the coast (twice), playdates with the Adams, and birthday parties. We have been making our usual rounds to the Farmer's market on Saturday mornings. Ian has started soccer. So we have practice twice a week and games on Saturdays. Swim team registration for Ian is tonight, so we will start that as well. Jason and I made the decision to homeschool Ian this year. It is working out good right now. And for those of you who do not call often enough (he he) yes it is true I am pregnat! We are due the end of April. That is really all the news from here. I will get busy with keeping up on our site. Love to all. Kim

Crazy Hair

There is not much to do with all of Trent's curls. They are always wild and a little crazy. I just can not cut them. Every time I look at them I think of my Papa Ed. Thus the curls will stay. The other kids were a little jeallous that Trent always gets so many comments- so we did crazy hair week!

Brynn wanted a fun hair do I was not willing to go to the extreme that I did with Ian's hair. But she had fun with it for the day. (I know it is not super crazy- but it is fun!)

Yes, Ian has a mo-hawk. He wanted it for soccer camp this week. I told him and Jason it was fine but he had to have it gone by church on Sunday.

Pictures

With the baby sitting money I made this summer I was able to frame our family pitures. Jason finally got them up on the wall! Yippee!

Happy Birthday Ian

For Ian's 7th birthday we celebrated with a High School Musical Party! 16 of Ian's closest friends came over and watched the movie on the big screen. THen later that evening we had the Moore family over to celebrate all of the many July Birthday's. We then took all of the kids swimming. Ian had a very happy 7th birthday.

Trent and Savannah

This is typical Trent and Savannah playing. After breakfast and before morning nap we spend an hour or so on the floor playing. They share pretty well and it is fun to see Savannah get a big handful of Trent's hair- he does not scream he lets her. Boy those curls are fun for her to pull.

What does 15 lbs of Raspberries Make?

40 Jars of jam, plus 3 bags in the freezer for making smoothies! Yes our kitchen survived. This was me and Jasons first attempt of making non-freezer jam. They look good. We are excited to can pears this fall.

Pink Eye Again!

Look who has it now!

4th of July

Happy 4th! We had a very casual family day. We woke up and ate a yummy braided breakfast bread filled with cream cheese and raspberries. Then Erin and I took Brynn and Ian to the Hillsboro Parade. We saw everything form the Hil Hi Marching Band to the Ghost Busters Car. Brynn loved the horses and and Ian was a very active candy chaser. I was proud to have caught a peparoni stick this year! Yippee. We had such a great day.

Aunt stick insited that the kids try the Pop Rocks right way, so before lunch they began reaping the rewards of their Parade candy.

Ian had green apple Pop Rocks and thougth they were amazing.

Trent having Pop Rocks for the first time. He LOVED them!

BBQ and Nanna's with games of Croquet and Bocce Ball. Sorry I did not get any good pictures of any or it. In this picture you can see Brynn running off and Damien and Kelsey have teamed up to win the croquet match.

Our evening ended with Fireworks! Daddy/Uncle Jason lead the kids in Pop It's and sparklers and then put on a show in the driveway.

This is What Trent Wakes Up For

This summer I am watching Savannah, my niece while her mom is teaching summer school. Trent LOVES that we watch her. He wakes up in the morning asking for "T-Nanna" Let me rephrase that little he wakes up 30- 45 minutes before Savannah's arrival asking for her. The part is that it puts him in a really good mood. He is not the only one it puts in a good mood. It also puts Brynn (who wakes up horribly!) in a good mood. Brynn loves to come down stairs and play with Baby Savannah right away. We are all really enjoying having Savannah around. She is a super cutie and really easy going.

Rainy Berry Picking

It is wxactly what it sounds like. I took the kids berry picking in the pouring rain. We went to Smith Berry Barn just past Groner Elementary. All of the berries are no spray. We got the meet the owner and take a tour of the property. He answered all of our silly questions. Then we got picking we thought the big rain storm had passed but we were wrong- it really poured once we got out there. We decided there were some positives to picking in the reain... 1. No Bugs 2. Our hands stayed clean because the rain washed it off, and 3. There was no one else there!

We kept Trent enterained my constantly feeding him. He thought he was so spoiled.

They had smiles on most of the time toward the end Brynn was cold. When we got home her and Ian got in a hot bath and played for 30 minutes. Trent took a nap and I got to read while the kids splashed my book. By the end each kid had filled their buckets about 1/2 way.

Brynn picking blackberries. I had to make a rule for Brynn, for every two berries she put in the bucket she could eat one. However I put most of the berries in her bucket and caught her eating out of the bucket because it was easier than picking.

As you can see we enountered a lot of mud, you should have seen our muddy pants .

Trust me, Trents stroller was not made for off roading or for mud of any kind.

Ian picking Cascade Delight Raspberries, they were as large as a blackberry.

Bald Eagle

Sorry, this post has no picture. Sometimes it is just enough to get all three kids out hte door with matching clothes and clean faces. Anyway, Thursday night our neighborhood had a presentation on birds sponsered by Jackson Bottom Wetlands. I took the kids down after dinner. I tried to bribe Trent to stay in his car/stroller by feeding him cookies but that did not work he wanted to sit with the big kids in the middle of the room and participate. He did good- and all the kids loved it when thye pulled out mounted birds to touch. The presenter walked around the room so that each kid and parent could touch. Trent followed her and gave a "Oooo" reaction each time. Brynn was super cute as well. She raised her hand to answer each question- even though she had no clue what the answer was. Ian was mister intelligent and really did nswer the quesition correct. After the presentation we took the kids down the the gazebo and Ian looked through binoculars ( I may have spelled that wrong) and spotted a Bald Eagle. I had thought that I was seeing an eagles nest on our walk of the wet lands however it is home to a very beautiful bald eagle. It was quite a treat for Ian.

If it's not one thing it's another...

Last week we had the flu, this week Brynn has pink eye. It is hard to tell from these pictures but she has it. We will be medicating her for the next 5 days. It started in her right eye and the next morning it was in both. She has a great calming method before she gets her drops. First she gets a blanky, then she counts she makes it to 7 and then the numbers come out of order and go up to eighty thirteen! That must be a really high number.

The Madness is Satrting

This week Ian was a very busy boy. He had soccer camp in the morning all week. He loved it and his comment was "I wish I could do this every day of the year instead of every day of the week." Lucky for him he is registered for soccer in the fall.
The top picture is of Ian's swim meet. He swam the 25 free and was 3 seconds off a "B" time, the 25 back and the 100 IM (which he got another best time in). It is possible for Ian to have some "B" times by the end of the summer. He had a great time at the meet and is getting to know his new team mates. The meet was Jason's first with his new team- THUNDERBOLT. It was a little weird having Jason coach one team and Ian swim on another. But hey to me it makes sense to have him on the team where I can walk him to practice:) The meet was a first for me. I hired a baby sitter to stay home with Brynn and Trent. Poor Cherice (our sitter) we left the house at 6 am. It was nice to have Ian and Mom time. Although at first he really wanted to assert his freedom and hang out with friends. However, mid way thorugh the meet he was sitting on my lap reading Encylopedia Brown mysteries.

Congrats Amy!

On Tuesday Ian broke out and was crying that he missed his friend Zachy (Zachary Warren). For those of you who don't know Zach moved last year so his mom (Amy- my good friend) could attend BYU- Provo. It was odd and I thought we would track down an address and send a letter. No joke 2 days later I got a call from a friend saying that Amy got married today and would be in town on Tuesday could a make it to a little girls get to gether. I had not plans to drop- but if I had I would have dropped them. I was there! Amy was so happy. I had not seen such a glow on her in a long time. The sad part of the story is that Amy and family will remain living in Provo, but hopefully they will make it back to visit more. LOVE YOU AMY CONGRATS!

Great Recipe- A Must Try

So I tied this recipe the other night and the entire family loved it. I will post the recipe but note that I doubled the lentils and the rice to make it thicker.

Jungle

Horray! My curtains are up! I went with a jungle theme in the downstaris bathroom. It is cute and fun for the kids. We have giraffe soap, a lion rug, a monkey tissue holder and we finally have jungle curtains. I found this shower curtain and my mother in law sewed it up for me- 'cause you all know how good I can sew. To keep it a simple project I left it like a shower curtain and hung it with shower hooks- that of course matched the theme.

Thanks Rosemary!!
